Our Singapore Our Home & Nation
Our Singapore – today marked the school’s commemoration of the nation’s 54th birthday, which also occurred in the context of the BiCentennial 2019, marking 200 years of the start of British-Singapore relations. The day’s proceedings started off with a uniformed group march-past and salute of the state flag. Once the national pledge was made and the anthem sung, there was the CCA Award Ceremony that rewarded outstanding Outramians in their respective fields of CCA endeavor. The different school levels had diverse but interesting types of activities. The Secondary 1s scampered around the school on the Outram Trail. The Secondary 2s were focused on a collar pin design contest. The upper secondary students had a National Day package and bonding session. By mid-morning, all classes gathered back in the hall for the fiesta of songs, dances and even a quiz, where brave teachers had to do a role reversal and withstand the scrutiny of student emcees questioning them! Dressed in a sea of red, waving flags of red and white, erupting vociferously into community songs and dance – today was surely a day to remember! Thank you Outramians in helping us make this a memorable occasion.
